Fall 2018 Auditions
Welcome to the page for all things auditions related for Fall 2018. We are thrilled to be holding auditions this fall and encourage everyone and anyone to try out - regardless of past musical experience!
Sing opera? Great. Sing punk rock? Amazing. Only sing in the shower? Even better.
But if you still want more information (or just want to hear us sing), we will also be hosting an open rehearsal on September 6th from 9 - 10 pm for you to learn about our group in person and ask any questions you may have. RSVP to the Facebook event here for the open rehearsal (not required).
September 8th, 12 - 2 pm
September 9th, 1 - 4 pm
September 10th, 6:30 - 11 pm
The Harvard LowKeys typically hold auditions one to two times a year: once in the fall and once in the spring. Each cycle of auditions begins with preliminary auditions. Singers: we ask that you prepare a verse and chorus of your favorite song. Beatboxers: we ask that you prepare a 30-second long demo of your skills! Additionally, we will lead you through a series of vocal exercises to gauge your range and sense of pitch. We'll also have a good time and get to know you!
If you are invited to callbacks, we will teach you how to sing a few of our block parts (the vocal backing that the group sings behind the soloist) and hear you solo a bit more over the course of the week. That's it! Come to auditions confidently, show us what you've got, and you can have a shot at joining the LowKeys family!
