About Us
Founded in 1999, we are Harvard's premier, award-winning, contemporary gender-neutral a cappella group. We perform sold-out shows twice a year in Harvard’s historic Sanders Theatre, embark on world tours, participate in a cappella competitions, and sing upon request at venues in and outside Greater Boston. Our members hail from all around the globe and from diverse academic backgrounds, but we are united by our dedication to the group and our love for a cappella.
Music
All songs we perform are selected and arranged by current members of the group. As a result, we sing music from a wide variety of genres, ranging from classic rock and hip-hop to top 40, R&B, jazz and everything in between. Check out our most recent release of Part 2 of our live album featuring our favorite songs from 2018. Part 1, our favorite of 2017 can also be found here.
International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella
This year, the LowKeys competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella (ICCA), winning first place at our quarterfinal round and going on to compete in the semifinals! We were awarded numerous awards, including “Outstanding Choreography”, “Outstanding Soloist”, and “Outstanding Arrangement”. Check out our award-winning set here.
Although COVID made in-person singing an impossibility during 2021, the LowKeys successfully adapted, developing in-house audio and video editing capabilities. We competed in ICCA virtually, submitting a video of our arrangement of One Life by John Legend!
In 2020, the LowKeys took home first place at our quarterfinal round, as well as awards for “Outstanding Arrangement-Whole Set” and “Outstanding Soloist”. Though the semifinal was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we still loved competing that year! Check out our show-stopping set!
In 2018 the LowKeys competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella. After placing first at our quarterfinal round where we also won best arrangement, we progressed to place third at the semifinal round. Give the set a listen!
Public Service
We are the only a cappella group affiliated with Harvard University's Public Service Network. Service is deeply ingrained in our founding values; the LowKeys regularly perform for schools, fundraisers, and other non-profits in hopes of spreading our love for music.
